Three hours training in Kyokushinkai katas at Milton Keynes Dojo. It was a hot summer day in the 2026 heatwave. But there was still a good turnout for the training session.
The training was led by Shihan Andrew Rotherham and Shihan Sunil Tailor. We covered nearly all of the katas in the IFK syllabus.
These inter-club training sessions are a great chance to spend a few hours working on one area of karate practice that can only be dealt with briefly in your normal weekly class. The BKK holds ‘Squad Training’ as we call it, in many disciplines for students who are usually blue belt and above. This was a kata squad session, but the BKK also regularly holds sessions on kumite (fighting) for both juniors and adults. Registered students will be notified through the club Whatsapp Group of uopcoming sessions.
This session was attended by Sensei Marios from Leyton Karate Club. Whatever your grade there is always something new to learn or to improve for student who want to progress in their karate training.
